Joining us as an Adult Volunteer

You begin with only a minimal commitment - how far you take it is entirely upto you! You can remain as a Civilian Instructor or progress into uniform as either a Non-Commissioned or Commissioned Officer serving as part of the RAF Air Cadets. There are no experience, qualification, medical or fitness requirements - you just need to have a desire to support teenagers achieve and be able to pass a DBS & BPSS Check.

With adult learning opportunities available through CVQO upto degree level qualifications and opportunities to take part in and lead Adventure Training, Shooting, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Flying, Gliding, STEM, Camps, Road Marching, Sports and Music to name but some of the exciting activities we do the sky really is the limit.

Most formal training is provided to you either locally or nationally and we will financially support you so it won't cost you anything. All we ask is you commit to a minimum of 12 hours volunteering each month - which equates to 4 parade evenings and some weekends / mid week events.

New staff who have a current DBS dated within the last 6 months may start immediately as long as it states enhanced against barring list and child workforce. Otherwise you cannot begin until a clear DBS is received - you may still be able to visit us under escort to conduct initial training and famil.

Volunteering is a very worthwhile activity and can be a good addition to your CV - for a bit of your time each month you can give and gain so much - if you would like to know any more please fill in the form below.
